Natural England have a published plan to help them improve the effectiveness and efficiency of how they regulate and give advice with regards to planning and protected species licencing.
The Natural England improvement plan reflects a series of actions announced in December 2013 as part of the Triennial Review Action Plan (published jointly with the Environment Agency). It also shows how NE is improving service in the light of the implementation of recent reforms to cut red tape and boost economic growth. Some of these changes include a number of updates to improve the level and consistency of advice given, and reduce the requirement for consultations without affecting their statutory responsibilities. The changes should also improve the level of engagement and working protocols with other organisations. The Natural England improvement plan is available to download from Natural England’s Website |
