Alexia Tamblyn MA (Oxon), MSc DIC, MIEEM – Director of Ecology
Alexia has worked on a variety of projects in a plethora of countries over the last 6 years. Her project experience has included; developing participatory rural appraisal techniques; ecological assessments in a range of different ecosystems; stakeholder engagement to assess community based land management issues and to ensure long term success of socially acceptable environmental programmes; stakeholder consultation to ensure success of community based eco tourism programmes; initiating and developing ecological research in remote forest areas; capacity building projects, including environmental education and ecological survey techniques. Alexia has worked in Central and South America, West Africa and South-East Asia.
Alexia has worked with a variety of clients including local NGOs (Programme for Belize, Ghana Association for the Conservation of Nature, Negros Forests & Ecological Foundation Inc, Malaysian Nature Society, Village Development Trust) international organisations (e.g. Coral Cay Conservation, BSES) local and national Governments (e.g. Dept of Forestry, Ghana; Dept of Fisheries, Malaysia; Provincial Environment Office, Philippines), and academic institutions (e.g. Universities in the UK, Singapore, Peru, Malaysia, Philippines).
Alexia’s areas of expertise include: ecological assessments, community-based conservation initiatives; biodiversity assessment and monitoring programmes, stakeholder engagements/consultations; ecological mitigation and restoration, natural resource management planning, and ecological training and environmental teaching.
