Craig Turner BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, MIEEM, FRGS - Managing Director

Dr Turner has worked on a variety of ecological research, conservation and environmental management projects in a range of ecosystems over the last twelve years. His project experience includes: Coastal resource assessments and conservation planning for tropical coastal environments (including coral reefs) in Honduras, Malaysia, Philippines, Fiji, and Tanzania; Riparian wildlife and land use assessments in Costa Rica; A variety of environmental education and ecological training initiatives completed in the Philippines, Malaysia and the USA; Tropical forest ecological assessments completed in a number of locations in Southeast Asia and Central America; Advisory and policy work on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government of Trinidad & Tobago, the UNDP and the IUCN; Community development and capacity building in Papua New Guinea and the Philippines; Coastal island biodiversity assessments in the Philippines and Malaysia. Dr Turner has worked with a variety of clients and project partners, including local NGOs (e.g. Negros Forests & Ecological Foundation Inc, Philippines Reef & Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Malaysian Nature Society, Village Development Trust), international organisations (e.g. Coral Cay Conservation, Earthwatch Institute, SEE), local and national Governments (e.g. Dept of Wildlife & National Parks, Malaysia; Ministry of Local Government, Trinidad & Tobago; Provincial Environment Office, Philippines), and academic institutions (e.g. Universities in the UK, Philippines, Malaysia, USA, Tanzania, PNG). Dr. Turner’s specific areas of expertise include: community-based conservation initiatives; biodiversity assessment and monitoring programmes; land use mapping and analysis, ecological mitigation and restoration, natural resource management planning, GIS-based land use assessments, river corridor surveys, ecological training and environmental teaching, and stakeholder engagement.
