Recent Projects - St Vincent and the Grenadines
JFA personnel assisted with an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of a
proposed realigned section of the Windward Highway between Mt. Pleasant and
Peruvian Vale on the Eastern coast of St Vinent island. JFA worked with
Mouchel Parkman to assist the Ministry of Transport and Works, and the
Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who wish to undertake an
environmental impact assessment of the proposed realignment.
JFA was appointed to undertake the ecological assessment which would form
part of the EIA. Three phases of work were completed. An extensive desk-study
was completed for species, protected habitats and land use records. This was
complimented with a series of geo-referenced field surveys in order to
establish baseline conditions. Using the proposed development plans and
impact assessment was undertaken to determine the environmental impact and
develop environmental mitigation measures necessary to reduce or eliminate
any negative impacts where possible.
