Mr Michael Cummings BSc(Hons), MSc, MIEEM - Ecologist

Michael Joined JFA in 2007 bringing with him skills gained from over 5 years professional experience in the Conservation sector. Previous roles have included working as a Project Officer for Surrey County Council in a countryside management project. Mike’s role included planning and implementing habitat management work and species monitoring on a range of designated sites and habitats in the North Downs area. Mike worked with teams of volunteers to re-instate traditional management practices such as coppicing and conservation grazing in the Chipstead Downs SSSI.

After graduating with a masters degree in Conservation Michael developed his skills in practical habitat management as a Warden with the National Trust at the Hindhead Commons SSSI in Surrey. Large scale heathland restoration and conservation grazing were the focus of the management regime of this unique habitat type. Much valuable knowledge was gained through hands on, practical experience of implementing conservation management plans.
